Thanks to the care of Izhevsk gunsmiths, Russian anti-terrorism units, operational services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and perhaps officers of the Armed Forces will soon receive new, more advanced service weapons. This is a Grach pistol developed by the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant as part of a program to create new types of weapons for law enforcement agencies. It is designed to replace the world-famous Makarov - PM pistol and surpasses it in a number of important characteristics. The caliber of the new weapon is the same as that of the PM, 9 mm, but the use of a more powerful cartridge leaves no chance for a criminal or terrorist, no matter what kind of body armor they are wearing.
In addition, gunsmiths from Udmurtia are working on a fundamentally new system of "individual access" to personal weapons, which can be equipped with the Ruch. This system should prevent the use of a pistol or revolver by anyone other than its owner. This will be achieved as follows: a miniature electronic unit will be installed in the pistol's body, and its owner will wear a ring, cufflinks, a tie clip, etc. with a special "filling". Such weapons can only be fired if they detect an electronic signal coming from these objects. The weapons are ready to use instantly.
